Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of OptionBlobs (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What OptionBlobs does
OptionBlobs is software for importing, organizing, reconciling, and analyzing brokerage activity. Features may include position tracking, wheel-strategy organization, transaction history, account-value calculations, currency normalization, profit-and-loss calculations, and performance analytics.
2. Eligibility and authority
You may use the Service only if you are legally capable of entering into these Terms and are authorized to use any brokerage records, files, or other data you submit or make available to the Service.
3. No brokerage, advisory, fiduciary, legal, or tax relationship
OptionBlobs is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, financial planner, tax adviser, attorney, or fiduciary. The Service does not execute securities transactions or take custody of brokerage assets. Information generated by the Service is provided for informational and analytical purposes only.
4. Brokerage imports and data accuracy
Brokerage statements and transaction exports can contain formatting differences, corrections, corporate actions, foreign-currency amounts, missing records, overlapping date ranges, or data that the Service interprets incorrectly. OptionBlobs may normalize, classify, deduplicate, or calculate values from imported data.
5. Local browser data and data loss
The current CSV-import workflow stores significant portfolio and reconciliation state in browser storage. Clearing browser data, changing browsers or devices, browser security settings, storage corruption, or software changes can remove or alter locally stored information. You are responsible for maintaining the brokerage records or exports needed to reconstruct your account history.
6. Your responsibilities
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes and only with data you are authorized to use.
- Protect your device, browser profile, brokerage exports, and any account credentials associated with the Service.
- Do not treat OptionBlobs calculations as a substitute for brokerage confirmations, statements, tax documents, or professional advice.
- Do not attempt to interfere with, reverse engineer for unlawful purposes, overload, compromise, or misuse the Service or its infrastructure.
7. Third-party services and names
The Service may interoperate with or refer to brokers, hosting providers, market-data sources, browser APIs, or other third parties. Their services are governed by their own terms and policies. References to third-party names or trademarks do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation unless expressly stated.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its interface, branding, software, original content, and design elements, is owned by or licensed to the operator of OptionBlobs and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the Service to you.
9. Service availability and changes
The Service may be modified, suspended, discontinued, or experience outages, defects, delayed data, or incompatibilities. Features, supported brokerage formats, calculations, and data models may change over time.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR OF OPTIONBLOBS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR TRADING LOSSES, LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, TAX CONSEQUENCES, MISSED TRADES, INCORRECT CALCULATIONS, OR LOSSES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON IMPORTED OR GENERATED INFORMATION.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Consumer-protection rights that cannot be waived remain in effect.
12. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operator of OptionBlobs from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or unauthorized use of another person's data or accounts.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. Access may be limited or terminated if necessary to protect the Service, users, third parties, or comply with law.
14. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as the Service changes. When a material update requires renewed acknowledgment, the application may ask you to accept the updated version before continuing.
15. Severability and applicable law
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. Applicable law and venue depend on the operator's legal location and any mandatory consumer-protection rules. The operator should have local counsel add a specific governing-law and dispute-resolution clause before broad public launch.
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms should be directed to the operator of OptionBlobs through the contact method published with the Service.
This Terms template should be reviewed by qualified counsel for the operator's actual entity, jurisdiction, monetization model, and feature set before broad public release.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the current OptionBlobs application handles information. It is written for the local-first CSV workflow currently implemented in the Service.
1. Information handled locally
The current brokerage CSV importer reads selected brokerage statement files in your browser. The import flow is designed so that the raw brokerage CSV is not intentionally uploaded to the OptionBlobs server by that importer. The application may store normalized portfolio state, reconciliation records, import metadata, preferences, legal acknowledgment status, and a browser-granted folder handle in local browser storage such as localStorage or IndexedDB.
2. Information that may reach service infrastructure
When you load or use the website, hosting and network infrastructure may receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, request timestamps, requested URLs, and diagnostic or security logs. Certain application features may send only the fields needed for a requested server-side calculation or operation.
3. How information is used
- To provide portfolio tracking, reconciliation, calculations, and account analytics.
- To remember local settings and prevent duplicate transaction imports.
- To maintain security, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and operate the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations where applicable.
4. Advertising and sale of brokerage data
The current Service does not use imported brokerage statement data for targeted advertising and does not sell imported brokerage statement data as part of the current product workflow.
5. Service providers and third parties
Infrastructure providers may process limited technical data necessary to deliver the website or API functionality. If future versions add external broker connections, analytics, payment services, authentication providers, or other integrations, this policy should be updated before those features are made generally available.
6. Retention and deletion
Locally stored portfolio data generally remains in the browser until it is cleared by you, removed by the browser, or replaced by application logic. Technical logs handled by hosting or infrastructure providers may be retained according to the operator's configuration and the provider's applicable terms. Deleting local OptionBlobs data does not delete original brokerage records maintained by your broker.
7. Security
Reasonable measures should be used to protect the Service, but no browser, device, network, storage mechanism, or online system is guaranteed to be secure. Because brokerage exports may contain sensitive financial information, keep exported files in a secure location and avoid using the Service on untrusted devices or browser profiles.
8. Your choices and rights
You can clear local OptionBlobs data using the application's controls or browser storage settings. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional rights regarding personal information processed by the Service. Requests concerning information controlled by the operator should be sent through the contact method published with the Service.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults who are legally capable of managing or reviewing brokerage activity. It is not directed to children.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This policy may be updated when data practices or features change. Material changes should be reflected in the effective date and, when appropriate, a renewed in-app acknowledgment.
Financial Disclaimer
OptionBlobs is a trade-tracking and portfolio-analytics tool. Information displayed by the Service is for informational purposes only.
1. Not investment advice
Nothing in OptionBlobs constitutes a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell, hold, exercise, assign, roll, or otherwise transact in a security, option, strategy, or financial product. The Service does not consider all facts that may be relevant to your financial situation, objectives, risk tolerance, tax circumstances, or portfolio.
2. No guarantee of accuracy
Data may be imported from user-selected files, derived from brokerage exports, normalized across currencies, classified by software rules, or calculated from available records. Errors, omissions, delayed records, duplicate records, corporate actions, broker corrections, incomplete statement periods, or software defects can produce incorrect results.
3. Verify with official records
Your broker's confirmations, statements, tax forms, and official account records control over OptionBlobs displays. Do not use OptionBlobs as the sole source for determining cash available to trade, margin, tax basis, assignment status, expiration status, exercise instructions, regulatory obligations, or tax reporting.
4. Options and securities involve risk
Official options risk disclosure: Options Clearing Corporation — Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options.
5. Past performance and analytics
Historical returns, premiums, win rates, yields, average holding periods, realized P/L, unrealized P/L, or other performance metrics do not guarantee future results. Performance calculations may use assumptions or incomplete data and may differ from broker or tax reporting.
6. Currency conversion
OptionBlobs may normalize foreign-currency activity into U.S. dollars for display and calculations. Conversion rates may be derived from brokerage statement data and can differ from trade-date, settlement-date, tax, or broker-reported exchange rates.
7. Taxes and law
OptionBlobs does not provide tax or legal advice. Options, wash sales, assignments, exercises, corporate actions, foreign securities, and multi-currency transactions can have complex tax and legal consequences. Consult qualified professionals when appropriate.
8. Third-party affiliation
References to Interactive Brokers or any other broker, exchange, clearing organization, or third-party service are descriptive. OptionBlobs is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those parties unless expressly stated.
9. Your decisions
You remain solely responsible for your trading and investment decisions, order entry, exercise or assignment instructions, tax filings, and verification of account information.
